Scotland was our Country of the Week. We explored its fascinating history fraught with conflict as well as its proud and unique culture. It’s a lot to break down into one post, and you can go explore it for yourself HERE.
In our Travel Guide this week, we narrowed down our Scottish destinations to a few of the can’t-miss ones. From the beautiful and bustling Edinburgh to the breathtaking Isle of Skye, there’s so much to see here you might just need to spend a couple weeks away! Read more HERE.
In our Currency Spotlight we broke down one of the most important currencies in the world today – the pound sterling. With a history longer than any active currency, there’s a lot to learn about the pound, and many regional variations to understand. Get it HERE.
Travel Diary: Hiking in the Highlands
We released our second Travel Diary this week, trading the beaches of Nassau for the rugged wilds of the Scottish Highlands. In an epic two-part journey, we follow along with five intrepid hikers as they brave illness, injury, and a lack of sleep to make their way to some of the most spectacular views and landscapes on earth. Travel with them as they start just outside Glasgow and make the 6 day trek all the way to Fort William – and then some! Embark on a great adventure with ‘Hiking in the Highlands’ PART 1 and PART 2.
We also introduced a new type of post this week. With ‘Capsules’ we’ll focus on cities or other locations and present all the information you’d expect from our Country of the Week profiles, Travel Guides, and Currency Spotlights in a short, and easy to read format. For our first edition, we took a look the the unique ‘east meets west’ city of Hong Kong. Get a crash course on the city’s history, culture, sights, currency, and economy HERE.
Every week we round up the biggest business stories from around the world. This week Russia’s trouble spills into Europe, shifts in the shale gas industry, eurozone growth, and more HERE.
Next week we’ll travel to a small Northern European country that’s quickly becoming one of the best travel destinations on the continent. Beyond that, look for more of the great stories you’ve come to expect!
