This week at the Current we got into the spirit of Chinese New Year, went back to our university years for reading week, and more! If you missed anything – don’t worry – every Sunday we’ll round up the best stories from the previous week.
Happy Chinese New Year!
The year of the yang began on the 19th but we got into the spirit a little bit earlier with our Country of the Week. If you missed the boat this week don’t worry, Chinese New Year is celebrated over 15 days, so there’s plenty more to do. If you want some tips on how to celebrate, check out our places to go in the Toronto area – as well as the traditions you can get involved in no matter where you live.

For many Canadian universities, this week was reading week – otherwise known as the week where students don’t do much reading. For anyone looking to blow off some steam without going overseas, we gave you our 5 best party streets in North America. For the first time, we also featured a ‘Travel Diary‘ – a first hand account of a reading week adventure gone awry in the Bahamas.
This week we introduced a new feature – the Business Roundup. Simply put, we’ve put together the biggest headlines in business news from around the world into one post. This week we covered Germany’s trade surplus, Apple’s record breaking stock market valuation, trouble for HSBC and Qualcomm and more.
Stay tuned next week and we’ll bring you more of the stories that matter, so stay informed. Stay Current.
