Last week our very own Lisa Lavallee took Austria by storm for Canada Day! As a part of Tribal Vision Dance, Lisa and eight other First Nations Dancers from Ontario performed for a Canada Day Gala at the Canadian Ambassadors residence in Vienna. The Gala featured the Tribal Vision performance as well as Schuhplattler from Austria, representing both countries involved. Local ambassadors, Canadian residents of Austria, and many more were all guests at the event.
This isn’t the first time Ambassador Mark Bailey and his wife Raja Bailey have hosted a celebration like this. Lisa and Tribal Vision Dance also traveled to Ankara, Turkey for the 2011 Canada Day Gala! It seems like Ambassador Bailey really knows how to throw a party, no matter where he is!

Schonbrunn Palace is just one example of some of the great historical architecture found in Austria!
Kreuzenstein Castle in Leobendorf is another.

Two distinct cultures coming together!
The view from the top of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. What a city!
Hopefully Ambassador Bailey’s next Canada Day Gala can live up to this one! Congratulations to Lisa, Tribal Vision Dance, Schuhplattler, Ambassador and Mrs. Bailey, the Canadian and Austrian governments, and everyone else involved with this fantastic event! Also, good luck to those Tribal Vision Dance members still performing abroad – most recently at the Riddu Riddu Festival in Norway! Now before you go, check out this short clip from the performance!
